After photographing a wedding on Saturday, Jeff and I took off and crossed a hike off our list: Mount Pilchuck. We packed our bags with plans to stay overnight in the lookout on top of Pilchuck.
Pilchuck had been on my radar for some time now, but because it was so close to home, I kept pushing it off, saying "oh, I'll get to it eventually". I wish I had hiked it sooner, because holy smokes were the views from the lookout stunning.
Sunset was gorgeous from the lookout, where you could catch some of the sunlight shining off of the windows' reflection (and on Jeff leaning on the railing).
We thought we were going to be the only ones in the lookout that night as it was a Sunday and we hadn't seen anybody else on our way up. However, after about an hour getting setup in the lookout, a group of six joined us. This was quite welcome, actually, as the inside of the lookout became quite toasty and cozy.
We woke up the next day and Jeff captured some footage using the Rhino Slider we had brought up. Having captured the photos I wanted the night before, I figured I'd capture Jeff capturing his own footage.
Once Jeff wrapped up and we packed our bags, we were on our way out.
Pilchuck is a short but absolutely amazing hike. I should've gone earlier, but it was awesome going with Jeff and meeting everybody else. Definitely going to keep this in my pocket for sunrise hikes in the future.
